WHAT IS INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES

Interdisciplinary studies is where an individual learns about multiple disciplines and finds the connections between them. Interdisciplinarians work to integrate different disciplines and perspectives to work to solve complex problems. This results in new innovative ideas and broader perspectives, rather than one specific part of it.

HOW IS INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES USEFUL?

Interdisciplinary studies allows you to see things in a new way. It allows you to learn things and see things in a way that no one else has before. Interdisciplinarians have unique skills that make them incredibly valuable in a variety of environments.

WHAT DOES MY DEGREE CONSIST OF?

I plan on pursuing Health Law. I decided therefore that I wanted a unique degree that would allow me to focus on diverse disciplines to aid in my preparation for law school. I chose to concentrate my studies in literary analysis with a cluster in exercise physiology. Doing this allows me to integrate these ideas and see the overlap between them, something that will be necessary in my future career.

One of the facets of interdisciplinary studies is the Cognitive Toolkit, which explains some of the characteristics and goals of interdisciplinarians.
